Great to see some lovely veggie options, but the continual use of coconut products means a lot have been ruled out for people like me with an allergy to them along with nuts。 Would be brilliant if this was considered in the same way vegan options are in the book。

Slightly underwhelmed。 For a vegetarian/vegan cookbook I‘m disappointed in the number of recipes that seek to substitute meat rather than just being vegetarian/vegan。 Bookmarked some things but not a lot。

I was really disappointed with this book。 Having spent a long time on a massive reserve list at the library, it was obviously very popular, I half expected it would be one that I’d want to buy。There is new nothing in here that I’d want to try, many things I already cook, but no new twists, this is a basic cookery book that could be useful if you have never cooked before or have never eaten a meal without meat。The look of the book is very 80s, it looked very dated, I checked to see when it was pu I was really disappointed with this book。 Having spent a long time on a massive reserve list at the library, it was obviously very popular, I half expected it would be one that I’d want to buy。There is new nothing in here that I’d want to try, many things I already cook, but no new twists, this is a basic cookery book that could be useful if you have never cooked before or have never eaten a meal without meat。The look of the book is very 80s, it looked very dated, I checked to see when it was published。 It has recipes like spaghetti and meatballs, tomato soup, cheese and onion pasties, salads, stir fry, very basic meals。 I had expected some more exciting recipes。 The vegan pizza had potato on top and courgette, it looked really unappetising。 It didn’t make sense to have a big section on puddings and sweet bakes as virtually all puddings and cakes are vegetarian anyway。 There was also a section on basics which talked about boiling rice, cooking chickpeas and roasting potatoes。I don’t understand why in their tips to make vegetarian meals vegan, they suggested replacing butter in a recipe with a cashew cream sauce that included lime juice and cider vinegar, nice as that might be its going to taste a lot different to butter。 Why not suggest replacing butter with vegan butter which is available in all supermarkets now, even small village ones!I didn’t like the look of this book and I didn’t like the look of the recipes。 It’s a pity because I know these guys have cooked some much more interesting vegetarian and vegan food in their TV series。 。。。more

This is a very good cook book。 The recipes are very much family basics, with some great snacks, puddings and main meals。 They are a mix of vegetarian and vegan, and there is a good guide on how to make them vegan if required。 For my own personal taste there is a touch too many spicy recipes, but I think this would be an excellent book for someone new to veggie cooking。 As well as a list of basic recipes for sides, there is also some 'how to' guides for things like chickpeas, quinoa, rice, and lo This is a very good cook book。 The recipes are very much family basics, with some great snacks, puddings and main meals。 They are a mix of vegetarian and vegan, and there is a good guide on how to make them vegan if required。 For my own personal taste there is a touch too many spicy recipes, but I think this would be an excellent book for someone new to veggie cooking。 As well as a list of basic recipes for sides, there is also some 'how to' guides for things like chickpeas, quinoa, rice, and lots of essentials like tofu bacon, veggie sausages。 Everything you might need, all basic family meals made veggie as well as staples like christmas cake, chocolate chip cookies, a fry up - all made vegan。 。。。more
